The link between low income and low academic attainment is greater in the UK than almost any other developed nation. Children eligible for free school meals are less likely to get good GCSEs and go on to higher education. This makes it more likely they will struggle throughout their lives, widening social inequality. It’s a cycle that we’re determined to break.

The Director of Technology leads the Technology team’s business-as-usual work, and will develop a Technology strategy, enabling us to move on to the next stage in the digital transformation of our business. The Director of Technology reports to the Executive Director of Charity Services, and line manages the Technology senior team and the PA to the Director of Technology.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the technology sector across a broad area of activities including systems & architecture, knowledge management, development and day-to-day support. They will have experience in managing budgets and delivering technology services in a highly cost-effective way and will possess extensive experience in managing third-party providers delivering IT services. The ideal candidate can communicate persuasively and with impact, both in person and in writing, with a range of audiences. They have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a willingness to take a hands-on approach where necessary.

The day when no child’s future is limited by their background is coming, yet, there is still more to be done. Join us and help us ensure every child in the UK has a fair shot at their ambitions.
